Palestinian-American Adolescent Released Following Nine Months in Israel's Imprisonment

A American-Palestinian adolescent after completing a nine-month period in Israel's custody without being charged gained freedom.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old during his detention last February within the occupied West Bank, where he was visiting while residing in Florida accused of stone-throwing toward Israeli settlers, claims he consistently denied.

The US state department said it welcomed the teenager's freedom.

Currently aged sixteen, required hospitalization right after being freed, according to close relatives.

They said he is visibly pale and thin, and experiencing medical problems contracted in captivity.

Via family representatives, Mohammed's uncle spoke of the family's "tremendous relief".

The uncle, Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "living a horrific and endless nightmare" throughout the past nine months.

"At this moment, we are focused on providing Mohammed with prompt healthcare necessary for his recovery after being subjected to mistreatment by authorities and inhumane conditions throughout his detention."

US officials stated they would maintain to offer diplomatic assistance to Mohammed's family.

{"US government authorities has no higher priority to the protection and welfare of US citizens"," it added.

Twenty-seven US lawmakers had signed a letter to the state department and the administration, demanding more be done for his freedom.

Mohammed's parent, with four children operating an ice cream shop from Florida, previously claimed his son only confessed regarding stone throwing due to physical abuse.

He had not seen or communicated with his son since the arrest, receiving updates exclusively about his son's condition via legal paperwork.

The teenager remained without charge in Ofer prison in the West Bank.

It is also home to grown detainees, including individuals found guilty of serious terrorism offences and murder.

An estimated 350 Palestinian child security detainees detained within Israeli facilities, based on prison authority data.

Several lack formal charges along with monitoring agencies, including UN bodies, say some have suffered abuse and torture.

Following Mohammed's release, Mr Kadur said relatives would persist in advocating for justice for his cousin their cousin Sayfollah.

The dual national youth per medical officials died from beating by settlement residents following tensions during summer.

At the time, military authorities reported authorities were looking into reports a Palestinian civilian had died.

Mohammed and Sayfollah collaborated in the family ice cream shop based in Florida.

No charges have been filed for the cousin's murder.

"We demand United States leadership to protect our families," Mr Kadur said.
