FC Barcelona Set to Play First Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday
Barça revealed they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in domestic competition two and a half years after they moved out for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans are permitted inside based on approved permits. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced finished work included an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued by UEFA to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
