David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The comedian

Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

An official for the firm said: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was made after an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at women.

The publisher declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles in total, encompassing a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
